FIVE FACTS about Kurt:
Kurt Bold is from Wyoming, and he’s my English heroine’s idea of a perfect romantic cowboy.
An Amazon reviewer once wrote of Kurt: ‘Oh, my, swoon!’ :)
Working in the city of London, Kurt’s favourite place in this congested town is Richmond Park, where he can go riding and feel the freedom of the wide open spaces.
Although the embodiment of a romantic hero, Kurt deals in the logical world of figures.
He believes all that romantic stuff is just for dreamers – until he meets the heroine!

A BRIEF EXCERPT:
There was the sound of a quiet footfall behind them, and the atmosphere in the room changed perceptibly. David said nothing, but his grip on Penny’s arm loosened. He stared into Penny’s shocked face before releasing her arm and turning around.
Kurt was leaning against the far wall, arms folded. ‘Guess you may want to think through what you just said.’ He gave the words his usual slow, measured delivery. ‘And I guess you owe Penny an apology. Guess you should take a look through those documents she gave you and think about what you need to sign. I draw the line at any money coming to you, though.’ He pulled away from the wall and unfolded his arms, dropping them to his sides. ‘Unless it’s the money you owe Penny.’
David turned white. ‘This isn’t your business.’ He turned to Penny. ‘What the hell’s this guy doing here?’
‘Penny’s business is my business.’ Kurt dropped his gaze to David’s clenched fist, his only acknowledgement of it a slight narrowing of the eyes. ‘Unless you’d like me to make it a matter for the cops,’ he continued evenly.

SYNOPSIS:
One rainy day in London, Wyoming man Kurt Bold walks into an antique shop off the King’s Road, looking every inch the romantic hero. The shop’s owner, Penny Rosas, takes this handsome stranger for a cowboy straight from the pages of a book… but Kurt soon brings Penny’s dreams to earth with a thump. He’s no romantic cowboy—his job is in the City, in the logical world of finance—and as far as Kurt is concerned, love and romance are just for dreamers. Events in his childhood have scarred his heart, showing him just how destructive passionate love can be. Now he’s looking for a wife, but wants a marriage based on logic and rational decisions. Penny is a firm believer in true love. She’s not the sensible wife Kurt’s looking for. But when he hires Penny to help refurbish his Victorian house near Richmond Park, it’s not long before he starts to realise it’s not just his home she’s breathing new life into. The logical heart he has guarded so carefully all these years is opening up to new emotions, in a most disturbing way…
And finally, THE PIC!
Helena says: Whenever I imagine Kurt Bold, I can’t help picturing Paul Newman. (Although now I come to think of it, I often can’t help myself picturing Paul Newman…)
Sheryl says ... *swooooon*. Yup, I'll have him anytime, Helena. No problem at all.

About Helena:
Helena Fairfax is a British author who was born in Uganda and came to England as a child. She's grown used to the cold now, and nowadays she lives in an old Victorian mill town in the north of England, right next door to the windswept Yorkshire moors, in the heart of Wuthering Heights country. Helena has an affectionate - if a little crazy - rescue dog, and together they tramp the moors every day -- one of them thinking up new ideas for her stories, the other vainly chasing pheasants.
